Awning rail repairs

Hi all, has anyone had trouble getting replacment sections of of awning rail. I had an accident with my Lunar Lexon which means that the last rear section of the rail needs to be replaced. The repairers have had my van for about a month now and say they are having trouble getting a replacement section. They say that Lunar are waiting to manufature a batch of rails before they send anything out because they don't keep much stock.

Can it really take this long?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Chris, unfortunately yes it can take a very long time to get things like rails as the manufacurers do not keep excess stock.

They work to a schedule and all items are pre ordered to fulfill specific build requirements and dealers, service engineers etc have to wait until the next batch is ordered.

In some cases original rail is no longer made and the choice is then to replace all the rails, at considerable cost .
