Hi all, i have a porch awning which has only been used this season, i have developed an annoying leak when the awning is in place it appears to be coming from the awning rail and dripping inside awning any sugestions.also how easy is it to remove the metal strip which runs the length of van roof so as to reseal with mastic strip.
 
Are you sure it is not coming from the stitching along the awning?

If it were coming in behind the rail, it would more than likely just run down the side of the van.

I would use seam sealer on the awning first, before removing the rail.
