Apologies if this is thwe wrong forum

Have an Avondale Dart. The brochure says awning size 9650 which I read as a size 13. So far so good. I have been searching for a secondhand awning (the make being based on advice from forums here). I have seen one advertised- 'ventura atlantic awning' and the size says 950. Silly question prob but would this fit my van? I mean is the size exactly 950, equivalent to size 12, 13 or something else. I see a lot of ads where they say 'will fit a 12 foot caravan etc. Or should I just take the easy (more expensive) option and buy from a dealer?

confused

from the seller of the awning after my query:-

There has been questions raised as to what size this awning is (925-950 or 950-975). The only thing i can say is that it fit our Swift Challenger which had an awning size of 953 without being tight and if anything with room to spare. Please bear this infomation in mind when bidding as we will not except any returns and wouldn't like you to to bid if you are unsure it will fit your caravan.

so the $64000 question is will it fit my Dart?

Hiya Graham, the easiest way to be sure is get a ball of string and run it up the awning rail from ground to ground both sides of the rail.if you ring any awning supplier or caravan dealer that sells awnings and give them that measurement they will give you the size in metric. i have a ventura awning and they are excellent, they are made by isabella and sold under that name but are

hi graham

if the seller has said that his caravan awning size was 953 and the awning in question actually fitted with room to spare, this suggests to me that the awning is a 950-975.otherwise the awning would have been to small for his van and definately beem very tight.
