Hi mussel.
If you have a fairly new van just have a look in the practical caravan magazine to see if your van is listed. Or you will have to measure your Awning rail from where it starts at the front to where it stops at the back. So a length of string is ideal then measure the length of string with a foot rule, and whatever the reading is thats the size of awning you need . simples.

That method is incorrect, you measure the awning rail from the ground all the way round the rail to the ground at the other end. That will give you the correct size. Measure the length of string in centimetres as that is the unit that manufactures measure their awnings.

Hi all,
maybe I should have stated the make/model/type/berth of my van to determine my question regarding the aforementioned awning requirement...
I have bought a 2 berth bailey pageant monarch which I believe is 23ft overall length,so no doubt there are other members on site that already have this set up ie caravan/awning as I will no doubt do it wrong...lol
anyway thank you all for the advice recived so far Im sure I will be out there with rest of you shortly...

Hi Joann, yes sorry thought I had said year, according to CRIS its a 2003 model, but will measure with the string to be sure according to the guide, then to decide either new or 2nd hand? I suppose its personal preference on what to choose, but as a newbie what would the members suggest? open to suggestions...thankyou
