Hi, Can anyone help? We have a Fleetwood Colchester with an awning size of 935. We have seen a full awning we like but the measurements are 910-934 or 935-959.We have asked at a store for their advice but they would not help incase we made them liable for giving wrong info. We usually pitch on level surfaces. Has anyone had this problem or can help give us an idea of which size would be the best to go for? Thanks Jenny

Hi Jenny

Go for the 935 - 959. Anything smaller and the skirts will be very high off the ground. Only since last december have Isabella been making exact sizes for specific caravans , eg my series 6 Wyoming at 1090. My Series 5 Vendee was 990 and I used a 1000 which fitted perfectly. The series 6 Vendee is 1008.

Good luck. It may be worth having a word the awning manufacturers as well.

Cheers

Hello Jenny,

The situation you have is a little unique in that not many vans have exact awning sizes that match up with the awning.

If you go for the 910 - 934, then it will be a tight fit, on level ground, anything but level ground will mean it being short and liable to unwanted draughts.

If however you opt for the larger one, it will be touching the ground on level and may be difficult to secure properly, and may give problems if there is a strong wind as you will not be able to tension it properly.

In your case I would physically measure your awning rail from ground to ground , through the awning channel to get the exact measurement, and if it is exactly 935, then personally I would opt for the 910-934.

Hi Damien,

Do the awning manufacturers include or exclude the mud flap in their measurements? I'm not sure. If they do then bearing in mind the peg fixings are on the awning fabric itself and not the mud flap skirts then the larger size would still be better for Jenny.

This time around I have been lucky because Isabella have made a Capri Lux specifically for the S6 Wyoming.

Cheers

Jenny, I would always go for the size up from your exact measurement. We had an Inaca on our previous van and took the next size up from our 895 awning rail and at times due to uneven ground it was just big enough, had we had the correct size it would have been too small. If needs be you can always flare out the ends nearest the van to allow for slack.

Cheers

Nick
