Does anybody know where i can buy cycle helmets for babies? We have bought a rear mounted seat for our 8 month old daughter, but cant seem to find a small enough helmet for her.

Hi Lee, Bike helmet's come in head sizes ie. head circumference in centermeters. We bought the smallest size they do which I beleive is 48-54cm. It was a little big for our son but the way I looked at it was that it was better than no helmet. They do come with the removable foam padding which we did use that did make it fit better. We got the helmet from Argos. Hope this helps. Tanya.

Hi Lee

I got one from Halfords and its the smallest they do which is the size TLC has mentioned.

I found that putting his hoody over his head first got a better fit. Not sure if this was ideal but seemed to help at the time.

The foam pads can be purchased separatly to give more support.

The only thing I'd caution about is if your little one is sitting up right strongly. Mine was 1 before we took him out and he was a bit wobbly and wasn't fully able to hold himself up and go with the flow. But he did love it all the same!

Hi Lee

Have you checked that the seat is legal for a child so young? If you put a helmet on her before her neck muscles are stong enough to cope with the addition, it could do untold damage. Helmets don't feel v.heavy but to a little one they may weigh too much. This could be why you can't find one that fits. Hope she eventually learns to love cycling though.

Denise
