Hi there i tow a 2005 Bailey 470/4 at the moment with my 2.0 tdci with a full laden weight of 1192kg, this gives me about a 83% match.I was thinking if upgrading to a new 540/6 with a laden weight of 1300kg, this would give me about a 87% weight ratio.I wonderered whether this would still be a stable outfit at this ratio, has anybody towed at these weights and what are the results? (c-max 1506kg kerbweight)

thanks alot Mike.

We've been towing a Series 6 Pageant Provence MTPLM of 1420kg with our 2.0l TDCi C-Max for the past year and so far clocked up over 1800 towing miles with no problems (another 1000 to be done next week). I reckon our tow ratio is 93% (verified by the dealer with his computer). It's a nice stable tow (even in quite windy conditions) and we get about 30mpg towing at 55-60mph in sixth gear most of the time. We have to drop a cog when the speed gets below 55 (about 1400rpm. I think it was last year that one of the caravan magazines heaved a 1450kg Avondale TA from Scotland to Sandringham with a C-Max, so I don't reckon that you should have any qualms about getting a 1300kg van
