Has anyone any comments about which of these vans, with similar layout (3 fixed bunks at rear) is better. Any feedback very welcome - we aren't sure which one to go for and are new to caravanning.
I know three caravaners with Bailey vans that have leaked within two years of purhase, I have owned a Swift that leaked like a sieve but as a Lunar owner I think that I can comment on the quality of their product. I have owned my present Solaris for one year having bought it new, in that year my wife and I have used the van for over 80 nights and the only work needed on its first service next month is a new gas bottle locker door and a replacement end for the bed gas strut. I looked at other vans before buying the Solaris and thought the build quality was not as good as the Lunar. Everyone knows someone who has had a leaky Lunar a soggy Swift or a boggy Bailey, you will find problems withh all makes of vans. Personally I am happy with my Lunar
We have a Series 5 Bailey Pageant Bretangue, 2 years old and have been happy with the van and service, our van gets used for weekends and several longer holidays during school hols, several times per year. Have looked at Series 7 Bretangue, wouldn't work for us as a family, our daughter doesn't want to be so close to her brothers at bedtime! We'd buy Bailey again. We have had a Swift in the past and would buy Swift again.
I personally would take notice of people who actually have Lunars. We bought our Quasar 524 new in 2007 after looking at all other makes. We found the Lunar build quality compared well with others and was better than some, Bailey in our opinion, not quite as good. We have had no problems and would buy again. Most British manufacturers are on a par, i.e. not all perfect and not all bad. Go with your instincts on this one.
