Seen a Bailey outside Wales (where we live) that we like.

Is there any truth in the rumours

(1) if you buy from another Bailey dealer when it comes to having things done to the caravan or for it going into for it's service, the caravan dealer close to home makes excuses not to fit it in, because you never bought it from them?

(2) Do you have to go back to the dealer you had it from if you have problems with your van, or can you go to a Bailey dealer local to you?

Anyone seen the new PC magazine, does anybody have any information on the new Series 6?

Allyson, regardless of make all dealers will be reluctant to carry out warranty work if you did not buy the van from them. As regards servicing the dealer we use do service vans if not bought from themselves. The Pageant Series 5 will be three years old next spring and is now the oldest range Bailey are manufacturing. I would anticipate that the Series 6 will be lauched next year maybe at the show in Feb as the Ranger was this year.

Just had a look on the Bailey website. Pageant series 6 will be launched in September of this year it also states three shows where you will be able to view the van. The cravan wil be arriving at dealers from November.

Yes I saw that in the magazine, they will be showing them first in the Three Counties show, I think this shown is in Malvern but I could be wrong.

Do you think I should wait, because the Bailey is new away to the range, and it been reduced in price?

Thanks in advance for your replies.

Hi, after reading the article on the new 6 series I am slightly concerned about the resale value on my provence series 5

Surely at this monent dealers have to drop the price of a 2006 series 5 range van because people are going to hang on for a new model.

It will probably be hard to find deals on new series 5's as Bailey build to order so the vans being delivered through August & September will have been ordered a couple of months ago. I also would not worry to much about the value of the current Pageants, bear in mind other manufacturers change models annually not every two or three years.

Hi All

Thanks for all your comments, we went out today and put a deposit down on the new Bailey Burgundy Series 6 from a dealer close to us. Don't know what it's going to be like, but when we do see it I'm sure we will be very happy.

Should be avilable at Xmas, I won't be able to sleep the night before delivery, (just like the children waitng for Christmas morning).

Hi Kathryn,

We to have the new Pagent series 6 Burgendy which we took delivery this weekend. As far as towing go's it's weight fully loaded is the same as our previous van at 1400kg and it felt a lot better, no where as much pitching. As far as build quality, well we have not found any problems to date and I have gone looking for them and could not find any, every thing works and no loose screws or trim falling off. Very pleased.

The only problem has been the on board water pump seem's to run when all the taps are closed, but this could be a error on my side.

You do relise that the Series does not come with the Remis roof light system which was a major factor on our buying descision and have been very disappointed by this, but we have been compensated by the dealer.

We are currently talking to some one who can supply the Remis extractor roof light and have it fitted by the supplying dealer without invalidating the warrenty

As far as I can say the build quality and specification is very high and the dealer has been very good.

HI kathryn

Yes picked up the van just before Xmas. We went away in it over the New Year, we had a slight problem with the oven and had to have a new thermostat put in and it looks to be in good working order now.

Have not been out since due to the high winds, will be off again shortly no doubt.

Good luck in purchasing your new van, I take it your looking for a Bailey Burgundy?

What part the words are you from?

Happy Caravaning

Allyson

We brought a Bailey Ranger from a Local Dealer when its service was due I shopped arround for the best price - none of the other Bailey Agents / Service centers wanted to know since they did not sell me the caravan, so I contacted Bailey directly who said (quoted from their e-mail):

"Bailey has a network of approved retailers and service centres across the UK. We are happy for you to have servicing work carried out at any of these centres or any NCC approved workshop, however, any warranty work required will need to be carried out by a Bailey Agent.

Bailey Approved retailers, however, are under no obligation by Bailey to carry out work of another centre if they do not wish to as they are Independent companies and Bailey has no control over their business ethics"

So I have to take the Caravan back to the supplying dealer and pay for it.....
