Bailey Cartagena 2 Damp Floor

At the rear of my Cartagena, under the shower, there is a rubber tube coming through the floor with (what looks like) a brass one way valve. The floor around this pipe is very wet and, sometimes, there is water on the floor inside - the carpet is wet as well. There is no sign of water tracking from the shower and the water seems to be coming from under the basin unit - but there is no sign of water leakage from the basin plumbing.

Can anyone tell me what the "valve" is for under the 'van or suggest a source of the leak?

Its the Alde antifreeze drain point, this is unlikely to be the source of your leak, if it is you header tank level will drop.

U2 are noted for leaking showers, which I believe you know from your post, so that leaves a possible basin drain leak or hot/cold water basin leak.

I am sorry to see from your email that you are currently experiencing dampness around the shower area of your Unicorn II Cartagena van. After making enquires with a colleague from our Retailer Services Team, I can clarify that we do not fit brass one way valves to this area of our vans during production. I would therefore surmise that this may have been a modification performed before you took ownership by xxxxx Caravans. However, this is of little use in your present situation. When you get back to France, you may wish to approach Eurocaravan Services who operate in France and more importantly are authorised to perform warranty work and you can contact them via their website: www.eurocaravanservices.com

I think I may have have traced the leak to the "T" pieces on the water supply pipes under the washbasin (the jubilee clips were loose) or to cracked mastic on the shower tray (again!!!). Watch this space.

A common fault on the U1 was also the floor to wall joint leaking, which can occur anywhere in the caravan.
Bailey resealed all around my caravan, when it went in for the front locker leaks.

U2 are noted for leaking showers, which I believe you know from your post .
