Only just seen the thread. We have had the 510/4 for 2 years now with a couple of problems.
The first was some 7-8 months after delivery when the 12v lighting fused. Tried a couple more fuses which blew, so used a 240v table lamp for the rest of our stay at West Ayton in Sept 05. I later discovered bare wires on the front RHS light touching, this was almost the case on the LHS, I informed Baileys of this bad design by email with no reply.
Next was last year in a downpour when at Lady Margrets Park, Chirk.
Wifey says, is this condensation or a leak coming from the LHS front window seal, water says I. When I checked the area above the window, though it was the window seal at first, I found stress fractures in the front panel on both sides where the roof bar end screws hold it down. Good job we got to this early, I sealed it with mastic til we could get it sorted. Eventualy, the van went back toBaileys and was fitted with a new front panel, couldn't tell it had been changed when it came back.
Some of the locker door handles are coming loose and may need replacing.
A pipe under the rear sink has come off and needs regluing into place, circlip is tight and ok, pipe hadn't been glued properly.
Having said all the above and this being my first Caravan, I love its layout and haven't seen anything I would swap it for in the price bracket. I bought this model, except the 470/4, because I can use the bench seats as single beds, Im 6ft. We have also used it as a double set-up with our 2yr old grandson in the middle of us with loads of room, so the van is potentially 5 birth depending on the occupants. Im not sure if the quality compares with earlier Baileys somehow I think not. I think Baileys are on top of the stress fracture thing has I have heard of others being taken back to the factory for repair. By the way,it was there and back in two weeks, but I had to srip and clean my Alco stabiliser as it was full of grease when I got it back, bet it was hitched to the wagons tow ball for the return journey!!!!!!!!!!!
