Bailey Senator Arizona 2004. Charger Fan cutting in and out all night...... Is it normal?

Is it normal for the fan on the Charger unit (Silver Box under Front Seat) to come on for a few seconds every three or so minutes. Only when hooked up to Mains 240V.. I have had the caravan hooked up for three days and would expect the battery to be charged, but can`t work out why the fan needs to cut in and out, very annoying at night. Only way to stop it is to disconect 240v hook up. Any ideas as to a solution!!! and is the charger acting normally?

I have read postings that said the same thing
Haven't noticed it much on the California but failing hearing could account for that !!
4 years ago when we had the Oklahoma I fitted an on/off switch in the charger feed

Unless the charger is a multi stage charger it will not know when the battery is fully charged and will continue to provide 13.8 v to the battery. The fan is an overheat protection and will cut in and out as the unit reaches a pre set temperature.
