Hi,

I am stuck between a senator carolina or an elddis superstorm both 6 berth. I prefer the look on the elddis but the bunk bed layout is better for us on the bailey.

I have had quite a few issues with my present bailey which has put me off a bit. What is the build quality and reliability like on the elddis vans compared to the bailey, and what about after sales if there is a problem as our bailey has been in quite a few times and bailey have never argued about it ( question aimed at elddis really)

many thanks

Hi David, Really depends on personal choice/requirements and experience of the models. A trawl through the forum will confirm owners with good and bad experiences of both Brands.

We changed last year and opted for the Superstorm, and from what I gather the model changes this year are fairly minimal.

Like yourself we liked the look of the Superstorm, however the flexibility of the layout also suited. The rear parallel lounge can be a double, 2 singles or two sets of bunks depending on your needs.

I have a 22 month old daughter who sleeps in the one of the bunks above me which due to the layout means that with the addition of a bed guard there is no way she can get out without us. Similarly we have the odd weekend where Gran and Grandad come along to spend some time with their Grand daughter and even with the L-shaped lounge we can accommodate 4 adults in singles with the bunk above one for my daughter.

We also find the L-shaped lounge more comfortable when relaxing or watching TV, particularly when there are more than just the 3 of us on board.

This is our second new Elddis, the first we kept for 5 years, and other than minor teething problems such as a cupboard door needing replaced which was done by the dealer without fuss we have not had any problems with both. We have always found our local dealer very helpful and they are regularly nominated, and have won the regional dealer of the year awards by CRiS and other organisations.

Hope you enjoy whatever you decide.

Hi david,

I agre with SPG (Special Patrol Group?) and being a Superstorm owner can vouch for the flexibility of it's layout. The build quality is excellent but you do pay a weight penalty. My local dealer says they are well sought after on the used market and give a good return when selling on.

Regards

Steve

Thanks for your replies, can you recommend a dealer that sells these vans or is that against forum rules. You can pm me if you would rather.

many thanks
