Bailey Senator Roof Walking

I have a Senator S5 Indiana. I seem to have read somewhere or heard the comment that you can walk about on the roof of these vans without causing any damage. This would be a boon when I face the annual process of cleaning the roof and vents.

Can anyone confirm please if this is or is not accurate?

Thanks

Paul I have seen a Bailey advert with about 5 guy's standing on the roof.

Whether this was a publicity stunt or even advisable I do not know but obviously it can be done.

i used to step from our garage roof onto our Indiana to clean the roof ,i used to wear deck shoe's ,make sure there is no grit on the soles ,allthough it took my 14 stone ok ,you have to make sure nothing is stuck on the sole of your shoe's so the skin is not pierced ,and make sure the area where you are standing isnt wet ,its still a long way to fall

We where adviced that we could walk on the roof of our coachman and i have done on numerous occsions when cleaning the van but i do tend to tread very carefully and only venture a few inches in from the sides.

I have not read any confirmations from bailey themselves about walking on the roof or in that case any of the other main stream makes, the only one i would definately say is a no no is swift as the roof on our 8 month old ace celebration twin axle sank by 2 inches with just heavy rain, which is the main reason we sold it so quick.

Just found the picture in the Opus supplement with this months P.C. and it is 6 of the Bailey directors? on a Discovery 100 apparently in 2004.Can't see one person doing much harm.

in the case of the pagent series ,the 5 series is of different construction than the 6 series,( bonded construction) the series 6 is the one shown with the group on top, do not attempt on the 5 series. check with Bailey they will tell you

Here is the response from Kelly at Bailey:

"The publicity photo viewed, showing members of the Bailey team standing on the roof of a Bailey tourer, was to demonstrate the strength and support of the fully bonded structure introduced in 2004.

However, it is not suggested to walk on the caravan roof unnecessarily."
