Bailey Senatore5

With the upright front on the new Senatore will we need to go back to the wind defletores we had years ago to save some fuel and to aid wind resistance has anyone noticed a difference in towing with the wider body can you see ok down side of van and does the gas locker door open high enough to get things inside easy as i am waiting delivery of new Wyoming all these things concern me Bill

We've got a new Indiana which we tow with a Volvo XC. I've not noticed any difference in fuel consumption when towing. We had a Provence before and I could see down the side without using towing mirrors but I need them with the Indiana. The gas locker door could open more, you have to bend right down to get things in and out but it isn't a problem for me. Whoever designed it with the light at the bottom of the gas locker box deserves a medal for the most pointless piece of design work!

Bill,

Those wind deflectors were a bit gimicky wernt they?

My tip when towing into a headwind on main roads and motorways is to get behind a big truck - they are governed to 56 mph which is just right for me - and if you get the distance just right (not too close obviously) they actually suck you along and modern trucks don't slow on hills either. Bit of a boring view but you don't arf save fuel.

If it's a supermarket truck you can even think of it as a discount on the shopping.

Re the gas locker light PaulT - I think it's to illuminate the locks on the outside and aid when hitching in the dark, not to light the inside of the locker - I think it's a good idea.

Illuminate the locks?? My light is about half a candle power and can barely illuminate iteslf. As for an aid to hitching up, the cars reversing or tail lights do a far better job.

I agree that it's a good idea but badly executed.

I thought it was back to the good old days when you had smething to put your club stickers on the wind deflectore i mean not to keen on getting sucked along with a jugernaught will wait till wind is blowing in direction i want to go then stay out untill it changes and blows us home again. Not come accross the light one yet still got that pleasure to come. Was a bit concerned about extra width as we do alot of rallies so dont want to leave a bit of Baily on farm gate post looking forward to February when we pick it up.

I was worried about the extra width but it's only 2 inches or so either side. I've not had any problems (so far).
