Bailey Single Axle Service Costs.

Just booked my Senator Indiana into my local dealer for service (Broadlane Daventry) for 208.00 plus incidentals.

How does this stack up with fellow Bailey owners experience???

I should add that as my van is now 2 years old I feel I am obliged to use a Bailey dealership for warranty reasons.

However it will be a different story next year when my van is 3 years old....

PS I know from other posts that there were various dealer offers about end of last year, but as a summer camper I prefer to leave my van wrapped up until March when I will have it serviced just prior to venturing out for the new season

you do not need to go to a bailey dealership for servicing but only a dealer agent and if you look in the owners manual it lists what bailey agents there are.

Paul,

Your next years service when the caravan is 3 years old is perhaps the most important service of all.

As I believe everything in your Bailey is covered for the first 3 years, it is your last chance to have anything fixed under warranty. So i would make sure it is seviced by a Bailey approved service dept.

Also you have a 6 year water ingress and delamination warranty which is only valid providing your caravan is serviced for the first 6 years by an approved Bailey workshop.Water ingress repairs can cost you a fortune.

hi try j bayliss & sons ( solihull caravans ). they are in arley warwickshire near jacksons camping shop. they also do mobile servicing. they come out to our storage which is stretton under fosse. they are reasonable and are bailey service centre so they can do all your warrenty work aswell.

Hi Simon,

I might be able to help. Im new to caravanning my self,but l have seen on the forum before the question and others have said it is that they use one shot nuts on either to hold the wheel hub on or they are used on the axle stub itself, maybe somebody will know better. I hope this helps.

One Shot nuts are used by Al-Ko and BPW.

As the name suggests they can only be used once, and when they are removed to examine the brake shoes and clean and lubricate the moving parts within the hub, a new One Shot nut has to be fitted.

They hold the complete brake drum assembly to the stub axle.

Thanks for this, have booked them 184 pnds incl vat plus the odds and ends.

Saved me 24 quid and also the tow there and back again.
