Batteries

I’ve just bought a piece of kit which has “ nickel manganese cobalt batteries.
Are these a further development of Lithium Batteries?
Are they the future for our leisure battery 🤔

DD your not having enough Spritzers, these Batteries are the type " I believe" they use in the Tesla Cars, they are Cheaper to produce, than lithium Ion. . Lets see what comes of them. They are good for power tools .

Hutch
They now replace the Li ones in my last vacuum cleaner from 12 years ago. They tell me they last 20 minutes at full power with 110000 rpm continuous use. The Li ones did 8 minutes. So they must be better and more efficient :cheer:

I am old fashioned and still plug into the Mains, with extenstion lead to the car when needed. Your pension must be better than mine. 😛 but the new Drone lasts 20 minutes as to 8 minutes for the older one. Toys for old boys. 🙂

Ok away from the banter between myself and DD, does anyone know if these batteries would be lighter than the Lead acid or li-ion batteries. .

Hi DD,
The new formulation may have greater capacity enabling the vacuum to run longer, but it doesn't necessarily mean they're more efficient.

Off topic, but as a fellow droner I would be interested to hear which new drone you went for Hutch ! 😛
