Battery box

I put a post some time ago on this subject but don't think i got any final resolution. Am I the only one that thinks the battery box design as far as accommodating the mains cable is very poor. On two new vans I have had in the last few years I have had to file away the bottom of the door to improve the cable clearance, even so the door still crushes the cable which is the standard mains cable supplied with the van.

My 1991 Leaky Lunar pinches it a bit, but not excessively.

Thanks for that - a point to watch out for when I upgrade.

Do I take it from the lack of replies that no one else has this problem? Difficult to believe as I only use a standard cable and standard Thetford battery box.

i always thought the cable was pinched deliberately to prevent damage to the plug or socket if the cable was stood on.

The door on our battery box came with a small cut out niche for the cable; it still pinches it a bit but doesn't crush it. Perhaps they forgot to cut one in yours?
