Hi,

Check your control panel - there should be a switch for the battery to charge, which says 'car' and 'van'. When you hook up on site, make sure the battery charger button is switched to 'van' and only on 'car' when you are towing (that will charge the battery while you are driving). If you don't have these options, you may have to buy a battery charger (Halfords do a great fully automatic battery charger, suitable for slow charging caravan leisure batteries - important not to damage them by charging too fast), and take it out periodically to charge it. You should never let it fully discharge, or it will damage the battery and severely shorten its life. If in doubt, check with a caravan dealer which sells Swifts.

Good luck

Lois

Hi Lois,

pardon my ignorance, but when charging on site, should the rocker switch not be in the middle setting, and only on van when on a non elec site, or car when getting power from the car .

thanks, anthony

Just realized why my battery never charged, was misinformed when buying the van, but been put right by my local dealer.

(I feel such a plonker)
