Thinking of a BBQ when the weather warms up this weekend. Plan to use the Cadac and was wondering if anyone has used any of the various grill mats that prevent flare ups on charcoal grills and keep the grill plate cleaner on cadac type grills. Some are like perforated aluminium whilst others are Teflon or silicon. The Amazon link below shows an example.

Yes I have seen a few adverts for these mats, the videos look great , BUT are they.? Weather looks good for after the snow this weekend.

I have used both the silicon type mats on the griddle and Cadac liner on the Skottl. Good results from the silicon. But the liner is excellent.

Thanks for that. Mines the Grill Chef and doesn’t have a skottle but we do have a paella pan which is quite easy to clean. The silicon ones might be the answer for the griddle.

Hi all. We use the silicone mats all the time. Washable easily for 4/5 times and saves the BBQ getting manky. They are not expensive and usually get 5 or so in a pack.
