Be ready for the thaw - check for frozen bottles

Just been to get some tins of soup from the van parked on the drive - noticed some bottles of water we had left in the cupboard were frozen solid.
Now, just imagine the distater if they had split due to the expansion caused by freezing, and the resulting flood when they thawed out!
Go and and check your cuopboards for anything that contains a fluid in a plastic bottle, and avert the danger now.

My windscreen washers packed up a few days ago (10amp fuse blown) so I put a 2 ltr bottle of soapy water in the boot together with a sponge in a plastic bag. A day later I went to use it and it was totally frozen and the sponge was like a brick.

Thanks for the tip Wombat.
I've just been out to our 'van, parked on our drive, and brought in a number of bottled drink and other plastic and glass bottles.
We had a number of 2 litre bottles of "fizzy" pop int the cupboard under the oven. One of the bottles, dandelion and burdoch, was frozen solid and so I have brought them all in to be on safe side. A tupperware tub of cooking oil was, also, frozen solid. A number of plastic bottles of cleaning fluids stored in the cupboard under the bathroom basin were partially frozen.
So thanks again Wombat, I'd probably not thought of this myself.
