Hello all!

This may sound like a totally stupid question (please forgive me as I am new to all this!) but what do you guys use as bedding in your caravans? Do you make up the bed with sheets, duvets etc like at home or do you use sleeping bags??

We have two king size duvets, one as a bottom, one as a cover. The bottom one also helps smooth out any lumps and bumps in the cushions.

We have one each when we first go to bed to watch the telly for a while, then if he falls asleep I don't freeze LOL

Before we got our fixed bed van we used a couple of duvets. One was 5 tog, the other about 12 tog. We layed on one and covered ourselves with the other. Depending where we were and the time of year dictated which we used top or bottom. We would take spare duvet covers as opposed to sheets.

This could lead to some interesting Posts, pity pictures are not available, or maybe that is a good idea.

We follow the same as others with 2 duvets, one winter grade the other summer and swop as required. In the very hot summer (not normally UK) the duvets get ditched and we just use the covers. The covers can be washed in the site machine if required and if sunny, dried within a few hours.

We started caravanning in the 70's using sheets and blankets. It was a pain making the bed each night, OK, I didn't usually do it but I did watch. Now with the fixed bed life is a lot easier.

I know some people use sleeping bags, but to me they are always associated with tents, and the cold.

This is an excellent topic, as I started one the other day asking whether you used sleeping bags or quilts on the bunk beds.

For us, we use a quilted mattress protector, sheet and a 13.5 tog duvet .......... what a big mistake!! It was the first time we went away in our new caravan at Easter and I thought I better get a warm quilt because it might be a bit chilly. Needless to say I am now looking at getting alot lighter one.

Our caravan is lovely and toasty at night ;-)

Hi Julie

I,ve been wondering about bedding too. We have had our caravan for 11 days and spent a very cold, wet week in it before bringing it home. We used two zip-together sleeping bags, but they are rather difficult to wash. Looked on google to see if I could find a supplier of 5ftx7ft fitted sheets and saw an advert for an "All Season Snoozy" Anyone used them? I guess they are basically two duvets fitted together like a sleeping bag, but with removable covers? (Perhaps I'd better post this under "Snoozy")

Regards

Lyn
