Beeches around Looe

Hi

We're off down to Looe, Cornwall for 2 weeks. Have been before but can't remember what the beeches were like in the area. Any recommendations for sandy beeches for sand castles and also beeches for rock pooling.

Thanks in advance

Annette

Hi Annette, was there recently but didn't really do the beaches, (no kids!). East Looe is quite sandy, West Looe is all rock pools. Further east is Par beach, quite sandy but couldn't give a definite as only saw it from across the bay.

Take a trip to Looe Island!! Tim, the boatman, is great. Not much for kids but well worth it. Only

Just returned from two weeks in Par area,,,,,,,,,apart from a murder on the beach (I kid you not)it is a massive sandy beach but a bit smelly because there is a lot of seaweed that gets washed up. They do try and clear it up though and pile it up on the west end of the beach. If you are desperate though, its fine. We travelled onto the west side where the beeches are much nicer. I can thoroughly recommend Travanaunce Cove (nr St Agnes).....its a beautiful little bay with plenty of sand and rock pools.....However, we do have a dog and they do allow dogs on leads onto the beach.
