Hi All

Have booked for three nights, anyone been, am asking mainly about the roads getting there,any problems , i.e windy,steep,narrow etc etc......

Hi Tina, your route to Queensferry is easy. Then take the A494 to Mold/Ruthin/A5. The only tricky bit is the drop down into Ruthin which has a few sharp bends but taken carefully its fine. When you pick up the A5 this is road is fine but gets a little windy around Betws-y-Coed. Again this is no problem with a caravan. The A4086 from Capel Curig and the A498 to Beddgelert are fine.

Hi Dusty,thanks for that,still get quite on edge on certain roads,been on some "A" roads that should have been "d's" or "E'S", LoL

P.S Do you mean windy...as in blowing wind(oops) or windy as in wiggly !!!!!!?????

Approaching Ruthin, keep well below the recommended speed on the bends when towing.

Unlike many recommended limits which are fine for caravans, HGVs, etc and can be comfortably exceeded solo; the ones on the A494 don't have a lot of leeway solo so could present a serious challenge if exceeded when towing.

The site is a typical woodland site, you'll need rock pegs if you are taking an awning.The pitches are often uneven, take blocks for leveling

Nothing is really close by, if you need a supermarket Tesco and Morrisons are in Caernarfon. If you are going to eat out in Beddgelert make sure you go early. They stop serving by 8.30. In one establishment , my son argued that the sign said meals until 9.00pm and it was only 8.50pm . The landlord relented and agreed they could order. When he took the order to the bar he was told they were pushing their luck asking for starters as he had only agreed to serve them as a favour !

They walked out.

Beddgelert is beautiful though, hope you get nice weather because it does rain in Snowdonia !
