Bessacar Cameo

We purchased a new Bessacar Cameo 2 berth caravan in April this year. The van is pulled with a Volvo XC 70 diesel estate ( 2.5 Turbo). On the way home from the dealer I experienced the following with the van.

On rough roads the van did not ride smoothly over bumps and it felt the van was overloaded as it appeared to thump down on the springs. This effect was transmitted to the car and resulted in a very rough ride. I have discussed this with the dealer who cannot give any explanation apart from the comment it could be the larger wheels on the van!!

Has anyone experienced this type of problem, the van is fitted with an anti sway/pitching stabiliser.

Russell try checking your car tyre pressures and put about an extra 5PSI in each one, I experienced the same type of problem when I picked up my new van and that cured it, I suspect they might be a bit low.

Russell, it could be because of your towcar, with it being an estate it has a long overhang so therefore there will more leverage from the caravan. While some will say a large one is better i can assure you a small one is preferable ........ overhang that is!
