best directions

my family & i are going to skirlington leisure park in a couple of weeks,i know this is near skipsea but can anyone advise me onthe easiest route from central scotland, all help greatly appreciated.Gordon

Not the easiest place to get to but here goes. From A1 Scotch Corner, A1 down to A64 to York, A1079 to Beverley, A1035 to Leven, A165 to Bridlington, then at there is a right turn at Beeford, B1249, then in Skipsea village, bear right towards Hornsea, tight right bend, site on left approximately 3 miles out of Skipsea village on B1242.

Hope this looks ok to you, sorry not sure where in Scotland you were coming from but everyone knows Scotch Corner!

We live in Hull and make regular journies up to Kirkcaldy in Fife. Although the A1 looks the most direct route, we much prefer the western route, i.e. coming from Scotland come down the M74 onto the M6. Leave the M6 at Penrith and across the A66 to Scotch Corner, then south on the A1. On this route we find you can keep a good constant speed. The A66 is mainly dual carriageway now and is a lovely road on a good day! The A1 down the east coast from Edinburgh has so many changes in speed limits and many cameras etc. Hope this helps. Happy holidays from Humberflyer.

We also live near Hull and do the same if going to our friends in scotland M74,A66 and A1 down. The A1 is very very slow north of Newcastle!
