Which is the best route, or any other options, please.
Dunkerque-Antwerp-Essen-Kassel-Leipzig-Dresden-Prague.
Dunkerque-Brussels-Luxembourg-Sarrbrucken-Nurnburg-Prague.
Dunkerque-Drop into France, Chalons-Metz-Sarrbrucken-Nurnburg-Prague.
Also, anywhere for an overnight stop, site or service area.
Will be using Camping Prah, Klanovice, in the Camping Cheques site list.
Any information would be appreciated. Thanks.

we did the Dunkerque-Brussels-luxembourg-sarrbruken-nurnburg-prague route a few years back & found the no overtaking with a trailer & the extreem amount of trucks on this route a PIA
there are many sections of road on which trucks are confined to the one lane & overtaking with a trailer is not allowed limited us to an average of 30mph.
I have no knowledge of the other routes though But http://www.viamichelin.co.uk might be a help if you selct the caravan towing option & michelin suggested route
we also found that there were several services that were used by truckers to overnight & were ok if you kept away from the refridgerated containers but you need to get in before 4pm to find a decent spot

We went over on a morning ferry and did 69 miles to Aalter to a site about 2 miles off the (A10) mway junc. Next day 261 miles to Limburg, on the A3, in 6.5 hrs, next to a mway junc. again. Then 374 miles to Prague in 8 hrs, in 2005 there we still had to use normal roads as the mways had not been completed. Also the mway discipline in those days was bad. We came across an accident that had temporarily blocked the mway to find people reversing back to the previous junction! Can't remember the whole route but it included Mainz and Nurnberg.I agree the no overtaking for trailers does slow one down but we did overtake a few lorries if there were no suicidal Mercs around.
Have a good trip
