Best time to buy new awning

Hi.
Weve been using a Royal Wessex 390 awning for 2 years and its served us well.
However,ive been contemplating buying a Kampa Rally Pro Air 390 but was wondering when would be the best time to buy and maybe from where.
Just wondering when dealers are looking to clear old stock to make way for new.
It seems to be priced around £925 at the moment.
We are not looking to change until about next April.
Any thoughts please?

Think that you have answered your own question.
Why not just keep looking at online offers, caravan dealers are not particularly keenly priced. Leisure specialists are often better. Many will want to offload during winter before the new seasons lined arrive. But you may have to accept an obsolete colour scheme 😱

GeorgeandAde, I didnt mean to alarm you, its the same with every thing we all buy, some people love them some hate them, I have and have had for about 8 years a Kampa frame awning and reading about pro's and cons about the air awning i prefer to stick to the traditional frame ones.
It's all about personal choice at the end of the day.

Not sure that the best deals will come in April as that coincides with the start of the season and folks buying new van or just changing vans or awnings. The supply and demand will influence prices more. That’s why if possible I always but cars in the period after Christmas. Businesses might need to shift stock in winter as it is capital tied up and doing nothing. Particularly if a new Wizz bang version is due out in the spring. And as we know many folks don’t like being seen with outdated kit!!
But it’s one of those individual decisions that only the OP can make.

I agree that the Kampa air awning have had quite a few poor reviews(I think mainly with leaks) but im in Devon with the van at the moment and been talking to 3 owners of the Kampa 390,and all of them cant praise them enough.(perhaps I found 3 of the good ones)🤣
Ive watched the chap next to us put his up and it just seems so much quicker and it looks really tidy once its up.
I admit his pitch is perfectly level.
The extra weight isnt a problem for us.
I really would like to purchase one and after reading your comments,I think maybe around December-February may be a good time to start looking.

We had the bigger Kampa Air Ace and quality was not exactly outstanding. Biggest issue was in the mornings the awning was wetter inside than outside despite leaving the doors open while on hard standing. We also had water pooling on the roof and with an air awning you cannot adjust the poles to do a workaround. Same applies if on a slightly sloping pitch, you cannot adjust the poles. We sold ours after using it less than several times.
The main factors for getting rid of it was the weight of the awning to drag it through the waning rail, getting the air out to make it compact enough to fit into the bag and then the weight of it to put it in the vehicle. To get the air out can be time consuming especially if it is raining. Taking down our traditional awning, folding it and putting it in the vehicle takes less time than getting all the air out of the air awning. Not much quicker to erect than a traditional awning as both still have to be pegged down.
Your choice and hope you make the right one unlike us.

Probably the best time to buy is October onwards, when business is quiet and new models are coming out. You can often get good discounts on having last years model and nobody will notice the difference in most cases.
With caravan sales high his year you might find less bargains though if they have sold as well.

The chap next to us invited me inside to look at his awning and he also mentioned the condensation sometimes.
He said that he purchased a roof liner to maybe help,but said it was such a "faff" to fix it in place,they now dont bother.
His is 2 years old and I asked him about water pooling on the roof but he said hes never had that problem.(Maybe hes just been lucky).
I asked him about general leaking through the awning roof,zips etc...and he said it did leak very slightly the first time the used it through one of the seams,but its been fine since.
Oh..... I dont know🤔......lol.

It’s not uncommon for awnings or tents to leak a bit around seam when new. The stitching requires moisture to swell it. The manual normally says something to that effect.

We have bought awnings from JR Leisure on line, they specialise in new previous year models at reduced prices, currently they have an end of season sale on tents and awnings,might be worth a look
