I had a Reich Move Control EcoLine fitted last year by Caravan Movers Online. In use its been very much better than the old Reich installed before. But earlier this year I found the control was very sluggish and found the batteries fitted were of different use by dates, one being last year the other 2012. The 2011 one had caused corrosion and the remote needed a lot of cleaning up. The fitter installed the batteries to demonstrate the movers use and it had never occurred to me to check them. Then when I had the caravan serviced the workshop said the installation didn’t comply with the NCC Code of Practice of sealing cable entry points into the caravan which was in force when the work was done.I emailed Reich on the batteries and that this had caused damage to the mover control, 22/5/12. Latter after the service I also Caravan Movers Online on both the battery issue and that the NCC code of practice hadn’t been carried out, 3/6/12. On the latter issue I asked if my application of silicon would make it comply.Neither has ever replied, in the past I have been impressed with the customer service from Reich. Untill I hfound these problems I had also been impressed by Caravan Movers Online. So beware check what batteries are fitted or supplied on a Rich to ensure they are matching ones and in date. Ensure the fitter seals the access holes into the living area to comply with the NCC code of practice.

Hello John,
You should have protection on both matters under the Sale of Goods Act against the company that you paid to fit the mover.
The failure to seal the wires is a failure of workmanship and merchantable quality, and mismatched batteries are a failure to supply goods to order which should have been new. If they had been both new it is more than likley they would have been of the same batch so being different certainly raised the strong possibility that older ones were not fresh. teh resultant damage to teh controller may be more difficult to get sorted, as it is a general rule for most battery driven appliances to check the batteries.
Check out the Consumer Direct Website, and you may need to also contact trading standards.
Just a few tips, Keep a record of all correspondence, and make notes about dates times and people you speek too. always ask for r keep written confirmation of any phone calls, especieally noting who you speak too, their position and any promises etc.

Just a "small " point can you check your browser settings and try and increase teh size of the font you use in your message, I had considerable difficulty in reading teh small font you have used.
