Does anyone know if it is illeagal to attach a cycle carrier with a clamp to a swan neck towbar, either in the uk or europe. Are we likely to get stopped by the police? Thanks
 
There's nothing illegal about attaching a bicycle carrier to a towbar so long as you don't exceed the manufacturer's maximum permissible noseweight limit.
 
Catriona, I currently have a Witter carrier which fits between my towball and tow bracket. When I change my car I may have a swan kneck type fitted. Can you tell me who supplies a purpose made clamp, to connect the bracket to the swan kneck?
