When can I get a couple of big pegs from for my next trip to windy Scotland. I have searched the internet and the only ones I have seen are part of an expensive tie down kit for an Isabella. I have a new Isabella porch awning which performed well, but would Like a bit more security.

Yes I have seen them, but where we go each year on the Isle of Mull by a sea loch, the ground is very stony which needs sharp pegs and a big hammer. I use 8" steel pegs generally, but as I want to add 2 tiedown tapes, the tapes will be pulling vertically so I would like something even bigger. Last year we spent about 8 hours hanging on to the porch awning in a gale, it was too windy to take it down. One pole eventually went though the awning window and the seams were strecthed. The awning was old so we scraped it this year and bought a new isabella which has the advantage of skirt tiedowns which helped alot.

We have driven past the Tobermory site a number of times including a couple of weeks ago. We have not driven on to it, but it is locatated above Tober away from the sea, up hill / single track road. It looks a bit crowded and is more of a campers / motorvan site. When we went past it recently it looked like there was a travelers site about 100 yards away. Wooded / midgy?

Nice sandy beach site at Fidden in the S West but miles from anywhere else (Good for kids and Iona)

Site at Craignure near the ferry. Not my choice I believe it has good facilities but expensive.

Site at Balmeanach (near Lochaline ferry) good facilities, no view, midgy.

Then there's where we have stayed for the last 15 years, Killiechronan. Right on the lock side, best views on the island,
