Bit of route advice would be great!

Hi guys,

I'm currently at hillshead caravan club site near Brixham leaving tomorrow to crossways cl site at Dorchester.

At Honiton would it be best to use the A35 to Dorchester or

A303 - A3088 - A30 -A37 then back on the A35 at Dorchester.

I've heard chideok Hill on the A35 is quite big. I just want an easy drive.

Thanks.

Chris

You will be going down the steepest bit of Chideok Hill, besides any modern vehicle should not struggle with climbing hills. All a case up or down to use the gears, and the advice from decades ago when towing, don't go down faster than that unit could go up, still IMO holds.

Without doubt the A35 through would be my choice, though any route through that terrain is never going to be "an easy drive", all will be slow and need concentration, but still enjoyable enough if taken as "that is what it is" and accepted as such.
