Black Bits in my water supply

Hello to everyone, we are very new to caravanning, we have an Avondale leda Cheviot which seems great for a first van, but noticed that after connecting the water supply from outside the van black bits coming out of the tap in the kitchen area.

i have no idea what this may be and was wondering if anyone can suggest a way to get rid of it (it is a whale pump I think)

We are very much looking forward to getting out on the road with it, thank you all for your time

Steve

Stephen,

The 'black bits' are probably algae. I have had this before and found the inside of the pump filler tube to be the culprit.

Hope this helps

Could be that the cold water filter needs to be replaced, and/or the water system needs to be cleaned through with a milton or puriclean solution.

I should have added that you sterilise the water system before putting on the new filter, as these filters don't like sterilising solutions

Thanks to everyone who has given me suggestions, I will check the filter and the filler tube on the pump.

Hopefully I will learn these thing as I get more experience

Steve
