Black Bits In The Loo - Again Sorry

Ive been using the Thetford Pink stuff in the Loo and as everybody has mentioned previously I'm now suffering from the dreaded black bits staining my bowl.

What other products are there that are good, smell nice and of course ........wont stain my bowl.

Hi Simon,

I had the same problem and saw a tip in one of the magazines to pop in about 1/4 of a blue block (the kind you normally drop into the cistern of the loo at home. This give the water a nice blue colour (Or i've tried the green ones too),lasts for 3 or 4 fills and stops the dreaded fluff from forming.

Always make sure you drain the tank before travelling though. I drain it into an old plastic milk bottle with the screw lid so i can use it again next time.

If you have a manual flush toilet you'll need to cut the 1/4 into smaller pieces to get past the flush tube in the filler.

We got fed up with the black bits constantly returning,so went onto Fenwicks which can be used for the top tank as well as the cassette.Smells quite pleasant and we've had no bother since.

Go on to the Fenwicks web site to read all about it.

There is also a Dutch product which Joyce keeps telling us about,in granule form which has no smell at all......but I've never seen it for sale in the shops.JOYCE,can we only get this through you??

We have managed to get Kemdirect into some dealers around the country and some camp sites but we are finding great resistance from the liquid industry because they know how good it is and they do not want us to deal direct with the accessory shops they would prefer us to either go through wholesalers or not at all.

We try and attend as many caravan and motorhome shows as we can and yes we do now sell by mail order or customers call on us as they pass up and down the A1.

If you ask at your dealers enogh times they will start to stock it for you.

It is excellent stuff..all three products.

The toilet additive has no smell, no dye so no staining, and is is granular, because no smell and dye more environmently friendly and you can use top and bottom and you will not get the black bits so no need fo tank cleaner as the liquid manufacturers would like you to buy. Easy to carry and store because lighter and more compact and we have many written compiments about it and regular customers who are now caravanning friends.
