Black Marks

I have a 3 year old Compass Kensington with a few black marks on the body. I've tried a few makes of black mark removers but nothings worked. It seems as though the marks are inside the paintwork. Any suggestions for a remedy would be greatly received.

Have you tried Fenwicks?

Silky is normally effective but very gently as it is slightly abrasive but I used it when other things didn’t work.

"Pink Stuff" is pretty good, Tesco, B and Q, etc hold it.

I've tried Fenwicks and Rhino Goo which are both recommended but neither made a bit of difference :-(

Has it had Paint Seal ( or similar) applied? May have been put on over dirty marks?

Paintseal clean and polish the caravan before applying the sealant so highly unlikely.

Someone gave me a bottle of "Autoglym caravan cleaner" a few weeks ago. I have never subscribed to using a "specialist" product such as this..........

But I used it the other day and reluctantly I have to say its brilliant!! Damp the area down, spray this stuff on (very fine mist so economical) agitate with a soft brush etc, ronse it off and the dreaded black streaks had GONE

Whatever take the greatest of care as the paint is microns thick on the caravan !

I use an old toothbrush and bleach but traffic film remover is best in my experience

Toothpaste is also very good, used with care as its a fine abrasive.

We were told never to use traffic film remover as it attacks the paint.

Black streaks are easily removed with any furniture aerosol polish. It’s the only thing I’ve used in over fifty years.

Tried furniture polish, Fenwicks and Silky but marks are still there.

Following advice from Car Body restorer I tried 3M Finesse-it 09639. It's a very fine cutting and body polisher. PERFECT with very little effort.
