Black Streaks

Hi all

Just a thought while i was cleaning the caravan today, what are the cause of the Black Streaks we get on our caravans and why don't you get them on cars. It doesn't appear to be the material because they occur on painted aluminium as well a fibreglass and ABS but not it would appear on cars painted steel.

I believe it is the rubber seals which give rise to the black streaks, or the stuff they are made of.

You do not see it on cars now as hardly any cars have rubber window seals they are almost all bonded.

However, on my first cars, a Mk1 Consul and a Triumph 1200, I got the same black streaks around the window area as you do on current vans.
