Blair Castle caravan sire - Perthshire

Hi everyone - looking at booking this site for a week in August. Any views on this site would be most appreciated. I believe the town is a short walk away with pub nearby etc is this correct?

Dan & Paula,

The site is great, we have been going for 5 years now. Great wee pub the Atholl Arms you can get a good bar meal & a drink. You also get free access to the castle gardens. There are plenty of walks and Pitlochry is only about 10 mins away. We have never had any problems on site it has always been a good friendly atmosphere. Pitches are good size also.

Stayed there many times. Facilities are excellent as is the location. Apart from the Atholl Arms there is also a reasonable chippy, Blair Atholl Fish and chips, who cooks everything to order at the Old School Park.

Depending when you go there is also a self service restaurant at Blair Castle itself.

Pitlochry is an obvious place to visit with pleanty of eating / drinking places and shops etc.

Cheers

Alan

Hi, we had our first 2008 trip out last weekend to Blair and it was a good as it always is.

Shower block facilities immaculate and warm, too hot for me in fact. Not many people around which meant it was very peaceful, but even at peak times, I think the park has a very relaxed atmosphere, possibly due to it's size. When I say size, I don't measn rows and rows of van as all the pitches are set around the central grassy / playarea, which is massive.

It's surrounded by hills and trees, Blair Atholl is just outside the gate, a couple of hotels with bars, couple of shops, cash machine, chippy/takeaway, post office, not much else.

On site shop is good, papers, rolls, milk, basic groceries. There's a games room with pool tables, air hockey, couple of video machines. It has an internet gallery

Dan & Paula,

Echo other comments; we've been going for several years, as it's reasonably near to Aberdeen. But must book now for July/August, you may even now be too late. Excellent walks for dogs. Some pitches a bit small; many season pitches pre-booked. Local shops and chippy excellent. Atholl Arms meals excellent-very busy peak times.
