Hi all,we've just had a week away in the van,and found that the blown heating was warm at the outlets near to the heater, but the outlet at the other end of the van stayed cold, and as this is the end where our girls sleep,I was wondering if there is any way of improving it,ie;lagging,re-sleeving,etc. I have checked and all ducting is connected. The van is a Swift Conqueror, any thoughts?stuart1

Your blown air system has to be tweaked at the vents to get a uniform heat distribution.

Close down the vents nearest the heater more than those further away to acheive this. Trial and error with give you the settings for your particular van.

This system can have heat loss outside the van, where some of the ducting may run under the floor.

Try using a more efficient and silent convector heater.

For example

Hi Stuart....our Swift Challenger is the same !

We have to close the front ones to heat the bathroom.

Good advise from Gafferbill about the underneath ducting, just on with lagging mine. One thing I did notice is that the Alko spare wheel underslung bracket and tyre had semi crushed the ducting, might be worth looking at,wont take long.

My van is at home so we are still experimenting for the winter aways....

If I stumble on anything else I will let you know...Terry

I remember seeing something a few years ago in a motorhome mag. Although it was a slightly different subject (there were fitting an extra outlet).

Any way the basics were they suggested using a different grade of ducting , the stuff used normally is a lower grade and that there was a stronger and more insualted grade available.

Might be worth investigating and maybe changing to a better insulated type to save heat if thats practical

cant really remember the details sadly.

The normal buff coloured cardboard duct should run underfloor inside a black plastic insulating outer sheath, annoyingly a few manufactures save a few pence by not insulating underfloor runs of ducting.

I say a few pence but retail it's around
