Blue pipe into Aquaroll

Hi folks

Yes it's me again asking probably daft questions

but I'm allowed surely because I'm new.

Having used van for the first time, easter to be exact, I filled my water tank inside the van, using a black lead attached to a pump with external switch to the on position. Water pumps into the tank, when full I take out the black lead & switch van onto internal, thus giving me water to the taps.

Query: so what does the blue cable do which connects the van to the aquaroll?

I'm asking this because when the tank gets empty I have to use the black cable to fill the tank again, surely this can't be the norm.

Thanks in advance (Brace yourself for more daft questions in future months)

moses,

Could you remind us which van you have and how do you know that the onboard tank is full?

I'm afraid I have not heard of the black pipe filling system for drinking water?

Regards, Pop.

Hi Pop,

We have a 1999 Bailey Senator Califonia

& I know when the onboard tank is full by shifting

the front seat cusion & looking.

Like i say there has to be an better way than this.

When refering to the blue cable are you refering to the connection between the Aquaroll and the caravan. Normally this is connected and water pumped from the Aquaroll into onboard tank. Aquaroll then topped up again so you have plenty of water for sometime.

I might have the answer to this one Moses. You should have with your van two pumps, one as you described with a black pipe. This is indeed used to fill your on board tank from your aqua roll. An easy way of telling it is full is to fill it untill you hear water trickling out the overflow. You should also have a pump with a blue pipe attached to it. This is the more common type of pump and connects to your caravan (under a little flap) and the other end (pump)stays in the aqua roll. This gives you two water feeds, so for example you run out of water during a shower, you can switch to the other using the button located inside your van. This rocker switch is labled as internal and external. When on internal the van uses the water in the onboard tank, on external it uses water from the aqua roll. It does not matter where the switch is for filling the onboard tank using the black pipe and pump, water will be pumped regardless. One more detail, if you want to use a super pitch you will need to switch to external for your water and either use a direct feed from the site tap or go via the aqua roll and ball **** (prefered method) as there is no way to keep your onboard tank automatically filled from the tap.

Hope this helps, any more questions, please ask.

Very good Lol.

I have the Series 5 Senator and that has only one pump and a pair of levers to change source and destination

This is far inferior to the system you have described as you have to move seat cushions and whoever is sitting on them to get to the levers.

I have modified the system so that the feed from the inlet goes direct to the tank and is filled via a new Whale submersible pump/direct fron site tap.The pump is switched via a relay using the gas box switch on the control panel.

I recently (Monday) got a float valve (stop ****) with 7m of blue water pipe and direct connection fitting ,a new Whale pump and piping and a 230V 13 amp to 16 amp caravan connector for

John, when you have done modifying your Senator, take it round to the Bailey factory. Then in a loud voice say," Here you are lads, this is how it should be leaving the factory". Don't forget to patent it, earn millions and remember your forum buddies.

Post script.

Take the whirlpool bath out first, the world isn't ready for that one yet.

When the mods are finished its time to change!

One van we traded in was bought by a Mr X

He then bought the next van we traded in a few years later

Then we got the message asking if he could be consulted before any mods were made to the latest van !!!!

Thank you Everybody (special thanks to lol)

You got it correct lol, I didnt know that external uses onboard tank & when empty say after a shower you could turn to internal

thus getting water direct from aquaroll.me thought i would (& did)

get the black pipe out Again to fill up.

New Qestion: Is it norm for the light's to go dim when using shower

& Taps. Ie:when pump is working.

Yup, the lights will fluctuate and go slightly dimmer when using the pump. If it annoys, try switching off other electrical appliances such as water heater/fire/kettle/tv/whirlpool bath.

Hi John, we had a 2003 senator oklahoma, she was a fantastic caravan, she had the switch over water system as discussed earlier, it baffles me as to why Bailey have changed to the system you have on your series 5!

We were so disappointed with the series 5 compared to our 2003 model (when we went to look, with a view to swap)

We decided to go for a Hymer nova instead!

Regards, Andrew.

Hi i also have the senator series 5 indiana we went to west sussex just after Christmas the Cl we stayed on was covered in snow and teperatures were blow freezing at night ,so we decided to use the inboard tank ,its fine when you first fill up because it takes one complete aquaroll ,but when the red light came on we decided to fill up ,and we were listening for the water from the overflow ,then all of a sudden my wife said my feet are wet ,so switched the pump off ,the locker where the electrics are was covered in water ,so pulled the drawer out where the tank is and noticed the cap on the top was not tight ,and why we heard nothing from the overflow was because it was frozen ,i cant understand why they put a full indicator on the toilet when you can see when its full ,and nothing on the water tank ,that you cant see ,so all you caravanners that go in the winter make sure your tank cap is screwed down tight
