break away cables

I'v read that there are 2 types of breakaway cables, one designed to clip direct to the mounting plate & 1 designed to be looped back on its self the difference is the design of the clip If the either one is used in the wrong way it can break off before the hand brake is engaged fully

Hi Tony,

As I understand it, the breakaway cables are all the same and are intended to be clipped onto a bracket on the towbar.

If they can't be clipped onto the bracket then it is acceptable to loop the cable through the bracket and clip back on itself.

If there is no bracket then it is acceptable to loop the cable round the towbar an clip back on itself.

I may be wrong!
