the lease company on my new company car has advised me that if the car breaks down when towing the caravan, they will recover the car but not the caravan - I have tried everything to get them to meet me halfway on this one (even offering to pay the difference) but they are not budging! Anyone got any ideas - I have spoken to my caravan insurance company but they weren't able to help either. The other breakdown service I tried would only cover the caravan if they could have the car as well. Anyone got any ideas?

Every year I play the brakedown companies & rotate every 12 months as a new member.

Last year it was the turn of the AA.

This February I bought a car that came with 5 years RAC cover but does not cover the caravan.

As this cover is free it is not going to cost me any more to keep on rotating the brakedown companies

We have also got a lease company car so understand your predicament. Our car is a Citroen which came with 1 yr Citroen assist through the AA and to be honest it has very poor cover, they wont even cover a wheel change, which on a Motorway is a serious safety concern. Now in yr 2 with the car so have the lease company cover which is again through the AA a no caravan cover,So i have taken cover with the CC Mayday through Green Flag which covers car a caravan. If you are a member of C&CC they also provide good cover through RAC Arrival.I know this means you have two lots of cover on the car but just think of the cost of recovering you outfit. I was recently speaking with a Highways Agency Patrol Officer who was telling me that they have dealt with many situations of caravanners who have relied on the manufacturers or lease company cover only to find caravans were not fully covered, resulting in costs of well over
