Anyone help - Just bought a Touraeg with a detachable swan neck tow bar. My caravan is unsuitable for an alko stabiliser I normally use a bulldog. The swan neck hitch towbar is tapered does anyone know where I can buy a bracket to be able to use my existing bulldog stabiliser which is the leaf spring type.Alternatively does anyone know of another leaf spring stabiliser I can buy. My 1991 Luna is unsuitable for an alko because the hitch rotates through 360 degrees.

Thanks

David

David, try www.towsure.com item number SM9 which is for fitting blade type stabaliser to swan kneck towbar. Ray
David, I have re read your query and the bracket I suggested may not be suitable for a detachable swan kneck. Ray

Hello David, quite a few years ago i had a peugeot with a brink detachable which was taperedand after much time searching i found that i was unable to get any bracket that was desighned for my bar, in desperation i tried the normal clamp type bracket made by bulldog and found that it fitted with a very tight grip and very little of it was not in contact with the towbar. we used our car and towbar with the stabiliser for a full season without any problems only removing it when we bought a new van with an alko fitted. I know alko say its not recommended but it worked and with no alternative i had no choice.

Thanks for your help. may have to resort to your solution. Leaving for France next Sunday so I have to sort something out. Even thought about having a split bush made.

Thanks again.
