Bubbles on veneer

Hi,

I have recently aquired a 97 Abbey Oxford and the cupboard doors have bubbles all over the veneer.

Does anyone know what causes this and if there is any way to fix it?

I have fixed similar bubbles using a hot domestic iron (not on seam!) with brown wrapping paper between it and the door.

This softens the original adhesive.

Som bubbles may need pricking with a needle to allow trapped air to escape.
