Hi Jo

I hope you have a brilliant time, I bet you're really excited. Take loads of photos (if you're allowed).

All the best, lucky you!

Anyway, I have to go now, we're off to a funeral. An old friend of mine who had some successful chasers in the 70's and 80's and met the Queen Mother on a couple of occasions. He lived on champagne and cigars, gambled and spent most of his life in Newmarket. He was an avid supporter of hunting. Loved his fry ups too. It's a non religious service. He lived till he was 80.

Jo..Congratulations, I'm sure you'll have a great time. Whilst I am not an ardent royalist , were I to be given the opportunity to attend a Royal Garden Party I would jump at it, as would most of us if we were honest.

Well, when we saw it advertised in the CC mag, we thought it was one of those things you might do once in a lifetime. I doubt we will meet any royals, though. I assume they are all on holiday in July.

Are we the only CC members going? We will have an awful lot of food to get through!

As I shall have to buy a posh frock for our son's graduation, it seems a good opportunity to get some use out of it.

That well known caravanner, Arnold Bax I think, said you should try everything once except folk dancing and something not mentionable here.

I'm not football obsessed either, but I went to a world cup game 'for the experience', and I'd cheerfully attend a royal garden party if I had the chance, on the same basis - I hope you have a great time Jo, please report back.

Hi Jo,

I'll be with you at the Palace. Doesn't matter if you're pro or anti- royalist, it's all part of our heritage so I'm just looking forward to experiencing the Palace gardens to see them first hand - after all we pay for them!

Anyway, the royals obviously put this all on because they can't wait to meet that wonderful band of commoners called caravanners...we mustn't disappoint them! Wonder which B list royal drew the short straw to host this one...they must be getting very excited already!!!

Jo and colinn , have a great time , 28000 members applied and only 3500 chosen so being a Forum member obviously has its benefits ;O). Not a great Royal lover myself but as others say the day isn't about that.

3500 caravanners and their partners, what on earth are you going to talk about ?

Your last comment Brian reminded me of Christmas day morning with the family. Brother-in-law and myself were chatting away (usual subject?!!) when seven-year-old nephew stomps out and into the kitchen to mum. What's the matter, they talking caravanning again, asks mum. Not even caravans, was the reply...caravan WHEELS!!!.

We'll try not to bore the royal hosts, eh Jo??
