--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi

Been looking for a fixed bunk bed German/European van (Hobby 540 UK, Hymer) and just seen advertised a 2006 Burstner belcanto 525TK. Any ideas on how much I should pay?. Cannot seem to find a price comparison anywhere?

Also, whats the thoughts on Burstner as they seem to be rare but there is quite a few dealers doing them. The end bunks though are no more after 2006 - not all fixed double beds.

I wondered what they are like as vans?

The German vans just seem to be so well built.

Hi Scott,

We have a 2007 Burstner Belcanto 540TK which has fixed front double bed & fixed rear bunks.

Build quality is fantastic and for us the layout was a god send.

There aren't many second hand as they have only been made for the UK market for the last 2 yrs so most people haven't sold them on yet.

If its the one currently on Ebay them the price is pretty good as list is

Hi Scott

I do not know much about Burstner caravans but we have a German Fendt and we have also had Hobbies, so I can also say that German caravans are very good and we would not buy any other.

We also buy abroad although we have bought in England some years ago.

So if you buy a German caravan I am sure you will be very happy with its build and spec.

By the way Caroline.. Hi ...how are you getting on with your new caravan?

Have you had chance to go away in it a lot?

Hope to see you at the caravan shows sometime.

Hi Joyce,

Good to hear from you, we sorted out insurance with Caravanguard who we were with anyway but have had the Phantom tracker fitted and an alarm as well as CRIS but good discount.

Love the van, had a few very small teething problems other than that its fab especially the underfloor heating which is bliss!

I think we may well go to the Oct NEC show, we are off to Devon for end Aug for hols & the C&CC NFOL at Exeter so rae getting the new solar panel fitted to the roof next wk ready to go!

What shows are you doing as Simon wants to pick your brains about Kemdirect useage as he uses it at work but says it doesn't stop the loo smelling! Men!?

Hope you both are well?

See you soon,

Caroline

Caroline and Simon

Would you be able to email pics of the interior of your 2007 Burstner Belcanto 540TK.

We are interested in the 490TK and the 540tk, however I can't find and interior shots for the 540TK. We want a fixed bed with large bunks and a decent seperate seating area from the beds. A sepearte shower also if possible, not too fussed about and weight issues.

Hi Alexander,

Sure no problem, we are getting our van back on Fri from the dealer as its having an alarm fitted now, I'm not sure how to let you have my email address & vice versa so I have emailed the moderator unless you know how to do it?

Equally I don't know how to post pictures on here or if I am allowed to?

Help!!

I've got a Burstner TS500S. The build quality is excellent, but there are a few snags. Tge instruction book spend pages telling you how to arrange the cushions, but the section on electrics is totally useless with no full wiring diagram. The labels on the fuse box bear no relationship to which circuits are actually controlled. The wiring is very very neat and tidy, so much so that it is very difficult to get the fridge far enough forward to replace the heater element (bitter experience).

Noseweights tend to be very high, as the spare is in the front locker and this is quite large - so tempting to load it with far too much.

Quality of the taps is not wonderful, but i don't suppose it's any worse than any other van.

I think the mods can pass on email addresses, I looked at the net and can get an interior shot of your layout, I have seen one for the 490TK. Thanks

Hi Caroline

Yes we are both well thanks for asking.

Glad you like the caravan and the under floor heating. We do not have it in our new one.

Hope to be at the NEC Oct so see you there.

Enjoy your hols in Devon and by the way Kemdirect has no smell and there should be no smell from the toilet. If it is all men ...do they aim straight !!! I have a feeling that may be the problem. Tell Simon to call me and I will speak on the phone. That`s if he is still speaking to me after the comment above !
