Hi,

We are fairly experienced Caravanners with two very young children and need to update to a more practical van.We currently have a 5 berth twin dinette.

We have decided that fixed bed, fixed bunk is the way to go but can only find this layout on European Vans.

Our current favourite is the Burstner Belcanto 500TK.

Has anyone got one or indeed any other van with type of layout that can give us some feedback on how good they are and any advantages / disadvantages of owning a european van? I must add that for insurance purposes this is a UK spec van!

Thanks.

Hi

We are on our second Burstner a ventana 500TS. It has a fixed bed but not bunks.

Both caravans were purchased from Calais caravans in Calais. They have both proved excellent with superb after sales from Marc. The equivalent to the van you are seeking will be cheaper in Euros. Mine is insured with the caravan club. A full service in Claise is 69 Euro and is completed the same day if you want to continue to take it there aand enjoy a holiday afterwards.

If you want any further details lat me know and I will e mail you direct

Hi John,

Thanks for your reply.

We would be interested in you emailing us more details please.

My French is only just passable so do they speak reasonable English there or will i have to get my phrase book out?!

Do I post my email address for you or can you get it another way?

Look forward to hearing from you.

Thanks

Caroline & Simon

we have just bought a Burstner Ventana 400TS with a fixed double bed. It is continental spec but this is not a problem as we live in France! The vans here are so much less expensive than the UK vans, usually euros for pounds which is a saving of one third!

Update to all who replied & thanks for your suggestions.

We have just placed our order for a Burstner 540TK (about the biggest UK model we can legally tow)which is fixed bed & fixed bunks & lots of lovely extras & upgrades including a chassis upgrade to take the MTPLM from 1400 to 1700!I don't know of any other manufacturers that offer this upgrade. No chance of me packing too much stuff for the children now & no more knee rolls to fight with and the sheer bliss of not having to make up beds! Can't wait.
