If you go to Lidl and buy separate packages of biscuits you will get a whole lot more for a whole lot less. £3 could buy you 6 packages of biscuits and it was buying Fox biscuits that started this thread due to the box being all packaging with miserly amount of biscuits.
Thanks for tip about Lidi about biscuits we will compare notes and see how many packages of biscuits you get but remember that box was 550g

The ginger snaps from Lidl are 300gm and the Shortcake fruit are 250gm =250gm. Cost about £1. Of the Fox 550gm I wonder how much is packaging and how much biscuits or is the 550gm for biscuits only? It would be interesting to know the weight of the biscuits only? (y)

Biscuit packaging should show the net weight, excluding the packaging

If you look at Fox package it clearly states “nett” otherwise why not include the weight of the tin as well as packaging.
We buy biscuits that we enjoy eating and sharing with visitors, so as well as Lidls own brand we go for other brands too, especially ones like Fox premium, Border or Duchy.

Taste is not the issue. Packaging is the issue.

How is packaging the issue? The net weight of biscuits is clearly marked and makes comparison easy.
You have already explained that so unsure of the point you are trying to make? I actually started the thread in a light hearted moment, but it seems to have got serious with indepth analysis. :ROFLMAO:

No biscuits for me tomorrow. A can of Haka and some Biltong.

My dietary dictates, together with a likely lack of sufficient will power, saves ever buying tins of biscuits these days.

Thankfully, also the depth of stress that comes along with doing so, something I had not until now realised could be allowed to cause such trauma.;)

Your post #30 says that packaging is the issue - I don't see an issue.

So as to stop the bickering, two questions,
1, What is the best biscuit for dunking, ??
2. Why do biscuits with coconut in them fall apart first.

Bourbons or Hob Nobs are dunkers supreme.
I wouldn't dunk a coconut biscuit, but I love coconut macaroons.

The only thing I dunk in my tea is a spoon when I stir it, bits of food in a brew is just gross to me!!!! 🤮 And the only place for coconut is up in its tree, can’t stand the bits getting stuck in my teeth. Now a plain chocolate digestive is a much more palatable offering and if there’s any jammy dodgers on offer I’ll put an order in

Rich teas for dunking.

coconuts make me cough so don’t know.
But a full blown original 1960s wagon wheel wins hands down👍

McVities digestives, 20 seconds depending on tea or coffee.
Are you sure it’s 20 seconds, as even after 2 seconds this mornings digestive was nicely soft. 20 seconds was a hand washing time period to help reduce the transmission of coronavirus and I don’t recall biscuits being a factor in transmission of Covid 😱

For me the best dunkers were Huntley & Palmer's ginger nuts with HP impressed in the biscuits. I can't remember when they stopped making them.

The nearest rivals have been home made gingers.

Huntley and Palmers sadly closed their infamous Reading factory in 1976.
Their biscuit tins are legendary and have a cult following of collectors.

On a similar subject, what do you all keep them in after you've opened them? We use a snap-shut lid plastic container (with a seal) BUT the biscuits still go soft after a few days (forcing me to eat all of them with a large coffee before they go stale!!!!!).
I've just had the same problem with the cake my granddaughter made me for my recent birthday.. I've no tin of suitable size so I cut it in half gave that to my family and the rest I had myself..I am now an older glutton than before
