I am thinking of treating Mrs T, to a new barbecue, up until now she has managed with a small table top gas jobby, but wonder if the Cadac system would be better, the question is which one should I buy? the top of the range seems to have loads of different plates but I wonder if she would need them all, we only really need to use it as a barbecue, and the appeal is that it will be easier to clean and not have flames from dripping fat,all advice welcome Thanks.

We bought a Cadac early last year.

We managed to get the top of the range one at a knock down price, and have used it umpteen times, not just as a BBQ, but for grilling and stir frying as well.

It really good for doing bacon and eggs, and you don't get the smell in the caravan, and really lovely cooking outside on a summer morning!!

We have been using our Cadac for a couple of years now. I would go for the one with all the different cooking plates as it is very flexible. We do stir fry's on the concave plate, bacon and eggs on the cast iron plate and of course the BBQ gets used a lot. The plates are easy to clean, but quite large to fit in the washing sinks! The BBQ part is quite hard to get clean, but Cadac's own cleaner is excellent.

The whole lot packs away into a bag and is easy to carry and store.

Graeme.

Cadac BBQ is excellant - get the top of the range one with all the plates, you don't have to use them all - they are for sale all over the place but I've seen them for under 100-00 and when you look at how much the conventional gas ones are it represents great value, also it cooks well on BBQ mode (doesn't burn easily) and eggs and bacon in the morning- superb

I have been given the smaller Safari, the high pressure one that uses resealable cartridges.

Has anybody used the adaptor they sell that fits to Camping Gaz 907 cylinders and if so does it fit; also has anybody tried to convert a high pressure version into a low pressure one?

Hi Joby

Thanks for the information, that's the best deal I have seen so far.

Regards Keith
Hi.. we bought cadac top of the range with the idea to use it primarily as a bbq.. we find we use it with the hot plate more and would highly recommend it... try www.riverswayleisure.com... they have it at 94.95... we had a slight problem with a part and they sent the whole main gas dish to resolve... would recommend... cheers richard
