Jon, I stayed there in August a couple of years ago. It is run by a very friendly Dutch family and it was a bit like little Holland - nothing wrong with that but French it is not. The father and two teenage daughters are very good at singing, music etc. and we had some good nights at the bar. The facilities were ok as was the swimming pool, but as at most places busy in high season. If you go insist on a pitch in the main camping area. There is a 'overflow' field which has a pond in it and not as good as the main site which has seperated pitches.

There are lots of things to see near by, Sarlat, La Roque Gageac for example. The area is very busy in high season with all roads full of traffic of which 50% appeared to be UK.

Jon, The owners are very friendly and I know that only recently it was the same family from their adverts that appear regularly in CC and C&CC magazines. I have checked though and they are not in April's copies.

I think it would be best to ring as sites do change hands / close etc and email addresses also change. The number I have is +33 553 29 53 55.

At the time of year you are going you will have the choice of literally dozens of sites in the Dordogne and there should be no need to book.

Hi John

Don't know this site but we have stayed at Le Bugue St Avit Loirers ( I think thats it!) It really is a fabulous site. The pitches are a bit small but the facilities are fantastic especially if you have children- 2 pools , lazy river good slides low key but good evening entertainment we loved it. We did stay in a Eurocamp static caravan but it was the holiday that got a us yearning for a tourer. We are going to St Aman des cots ( near the Lot valley) and Annecy this year. Haven't been to france for 2 years and we are pining for it!

Jon,

Another terrific site - just down the road - is Camping Bel Ombrage at St. Cybranet. Peaceful site, excellent pools, lovely little river running alongside the site, big pitches. Not as commercialised at Deux Vallees (we've stayed at both).

In June, the area will be relatively quiet and some sites won't be very busy at all. In mid-July to end August it's manic down there.

Loads to see in the area.

Jon,

Another thought - Bel Ombrage doesn't open until 1st June and is quiet for the first few weeks.

We'll be there from about 13th June......
