Camp site near Norwich

Hi all,

My wife and I (and 2 year old boy) are looking for a site near Norwich. We used to stay on Heveringland Hall Caravan Park and loved it - but they have now stopped taking tourers (scandal).

We prefer small site's with little facilities other than electric and a bit of space or a small play area for the ankle biter..

oh, nice loo's would be nice as well!

Anyone stay near there regularly and know a good site??

Many thanks in advance,

Gavin.

We stop at the Caravan Club site at Norwich showground being handy for the park and ride. The Camping and Caravan Club have a site nearer the city but we have never stayed there. When the C. Club site was closed we stayed at Swans Harbour Site, Barford Road, Marlingford. Norwich, NR9 4BE Tel 01603 759658 which sounds to be pretty much what you want. It does have a pond on site though ! Give it the once over on Google satellite

The Camping and Caravaning Club site is to the south of the city. It takes roughl 35 to 40 minutes to walk into the centre, using a pedestrian route (an old railway line originally) The site is split into two small fields, try the one on the right as you go in, it is slightly quieter. The facilities are, if not refurbished since 2006, are old, adequate and to the usual high standard of cleanliness.

If you want to go a bit further north than Haveringland then Deers Glade is lovely. Just north of Aylsham about 1/2 mile off the A140, small site, ducks, a pond and a minibus to the pub if you want. Google Deers Glade and you'll find it.
